A musical label partnership has been finalized between Nigeria’s driving Chocolate City and American music organization Warner Music Group.
This new deal with Chocolate City comes days after Warner Music Group sealed a licensing deal with Africa’s music streaming and downloading platform Boomplay.
The partnership was declared on Thursday, March 22 to the media and was shown across Billboard.
The arrangement, which is intended to expand the span of Chocolate City’s list of artists over the world, incorporates marketing agreement with WMG South Africa. WMG will likewise monetarily put resources into Chocolate City to aid its main goal of marking and developing promising local talent. Chocolate City co-founder Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo, alongside Jude Abaga and Aibee Abidoye, will keep on leading the company.
MI Abaga shared the news on Instagram with caption “… The future begins… Again”.
This is the second of such foreign label investment in a Nigerian record label. It has been reported that Mavin Records received a multimillion dollar investment from Kupanda Holdings.
