Not minding the fact that Nigerian movies have always been looked down upon, there are some of them worthy enough to be acquired by the global movie streaming platform Netflix.

  1. Lionheart

Directed by Nigerian’s renowned filmmaker and actress, Genevieve Nnaji, Lionheart is a Nigerian drama movie about family values and feminism. Written by Emil B. Garuba, the movie is most enjoyable when watched by the whole family. The movie was produced by Chinny Onwugbenu, edited by George Cragg and released in the year 2018.

  • Chief Daddy

Written by Bode Asinyanbi, Chief Daddy (check out our previous review here) is a story about a billionaire Chief Beecroft who lives extravagantly as though there is no tomorrow. This goes on for a while until his death and the bullion van comes to an end. The movie was produced by Temidayo Abudu and Queen Martins. It was released on December, 2018.

  • Fifty

Fifty is a story that revolves around four Nigerian women who are in their fifties and at the peak of their careers. It was directed by Biyi Bandele and produced by Tope Oshin Ogun. The movie was released in the year 2015.

  • The Visit

The visit is a romantic comedy thriller directed by Funke Fayoyin. The movie revolves around the lives of Chidi and Eugenia, an uptight and conservative couple whose lives were turned upside down when the crazy couple staying next door paid them a visit. With their visit, a lot of marriage secrets were revealed between the two couples. The movie was released on 16th October 2015.
