Nigerian singer and songwriter, Simisola Ogunleye popularly known by her stage name, “Simi” has updated she will part ways with her music label, X3M Music record label following the expiration of her five years recording contract.
This was announced by the Lagos-based record label which issued a statement on 1st May 2019. The statement made it clear that both parties have made up their minds not to renew the contract.
The statement reads,
“We only sign artistes that we love and believe in. We know our taste in music is rather different; but we only sign talents who meet that taste”.
“Fortunately, we have been able to find millions of music lovers here and abroad, who share similar tastes, as is evident in the success of all the artistes we have worked with, including Simi who is without any doubt one of the biggest music talents in the country today…”
Simi final album for the record label was “Omo Charlie Champagne” which was released on her birthday, 19th April, 2019.
The singer is one of the gifted music artiste in Nigeria. She is known for her remarkable music talent. She started her career as a gospel singer, releasing her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju. She gained prominence in 2014 after releasing “Tiff”, a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015
It is worthy to note that, since Simi’s rise to fame, she has remained a consistent talent in the music industry and has been able to gather an enviable fan base.
