Popular Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, best known as Naira Marley has been released from prison custody.
The singer was released almost two weeks after he was granted bail by a Federal High Court in Lagos. Reports has it that he regained his freedom around 4:20 p.m. on Friday, 14th June 2019 after his sureties signed the bail bond.
Recall that the singer was arrested and charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 11 counts of cyber crime.
He was granted a N2m bail with two sureties in like sum.
Prior to the release of the singer, there were rumours which flew around on the internet that there wasn’t any government official willing to stand as a surety for the singer due to his criminal records which resulted in the singer’s release being delayed.
However, his management debunked the rumour saying it was false as the only reason his release was delayed was because the EFCC and the court were unable to promptly process the final steps of his release.
But then, these are no longer important as what matters now is that the singer has finally regained his freedom.
