You did well for yourself, for Nigeria, and for the future generation by going out to register for your Permanent Voters Card (PVC). Now it’s time to take it one step further by going to collect your PVC if you haven’t done so already.
With the Presidential and National Assembly elections less than 40 days away, we all as a nation have to start getting ready to cast our votes on the 16th of February.
Don’t procrastinate picking up your PVC; you need it to enable you exercise your franchise. And yes, your PVC is ready.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, writing on the commission’s Twitter page, confirmed that the cards are ready to be picked up.
He said that “registered voters should endeavour to collect their cards personally without which no person can vote on election day”.
So there you have it, you will only be allowed to vote with your PVC.
Assuming you go check for yours and they say it’s not ready yet, best be patient. Give it another week then go check again. You can also make a complaint to INEC on their social media pages, they seem to be quite active on Twitter.
Let’s all, as a nation, ensure we vote for those we believe will take Nigeria to greater heights.
