In recent naijagist, Nigerian singer and songwriter, Teniola Apata, better known by her stage name Teni the Entertainer has revealed that her late father, Davido and her sister, Niniola are the two people who played a vital role in her journey to becoming a successful music artiste.
She disclosed this in a recent interview and explained that Niniola taught her how to sing and dance while Davido encouraged her to stay focused on her music career.
According to her-
“I have a very wide taste in music; so, I listen to all sorts and that influences me in different ways. However, in the industry here in Nigeria, Niniola and Davido are among my biggest influences. Davido is a wonderful person and I recall the first time I met him was in Los Angeles, US. He advised me to stay focused on my music career and I would succeed. I am happy that has come to pass. As for Nini, she practically taught me how to sing and it is something I will always appreciate. My late father also loved music and he usually played songs a lot in the house. He really loved all his children and he did a lot to build our confidence and self-esteem. Many times, I wish he were here to see what we have made of our lives”.
She went ahead and revealed that music is her primary focus for now and has plans to start a family sometime in the future.
There is no doubt that Teni is one of the top artistes in the Nigerian music industry at the moment. Within just a short time, she has warmed her way into the hearts of many to become a household name and her songs are played in every nook and cranny in the country.
