Nigerian writer and female activist Chimamanda Adichie has made history again after she was named among top Africa’s 50 most powerful women according to Forbes. The list was released on Friday, March 6, during the Forbes women summit 2020 held in Durban, South Africa.
According to an article by Forbes on their website, this was the first African compilation that focused on a lot of sectors among them; business, politics, media, science, sports and public life.
It categorically majored in women who have focussed on reshaping history and have challenged the status quo.
In the list was also Hollywood actress, Lupita Nyong’o, who doubles as a writer and also a good ambassador of beautiful black complexion.
Also on the list is a Kenyan entrepreneur, Dr Jennifer Riria, who is a founding member of Kenya Women Finance Trust. Other renowned personalities in the list include Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Ellen Johnson, Fatou Bensouda among others.
