The CEO of Ebony Life TV, Mosunmola Abudu popularly known as Mo Abudu has become the first African to be honored with the MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur. The award took place in Cannes, France at the Inter Continental Carlton Hotel on Monday, 8th April, 2019.
It is to ne noted that the prestigious MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur are awarded to senior executives who have, through their talent, leadership and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and the development of the international TV community.
Mo Abudu was honoured after MIPTV found her accomplishments with EbonyLife TV and EbonyLife films worthy of reward. She was honored alongside Writer, , Ilene Chaiken, Showrunner and Producer (USA); Stéphane Courbit, Chairman, Banijay Group (France); and Jane Millichip, Managing Director, Sky Vision (United Kingdom).
Abudu who couldn’t hide her excitement took to her Instagram page on recently and shared the good news.
Recall that the media guru is the executive producer of the highest grossing Nollywood movie, The Wedding Party. Aside that, she has made international partnerships with Sony over a movie about the Dahomey Warriors, which will feature Viola Davis and Lupita Nyong’o.
She has also been recognized by Forbes Africa as the first African woman to own a Pan-Africa TV channel in. Ebony Life TV was launched in 2013 and it has produced over 1,000 hours of original programming each year.
