Nigerian talented rapper and songwriter, Oladipo Olamide Emmanuel with the stage name Chinko Ekun, recently shared a word of advice for his colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
In a couple of posts shared on his Twitter handle, the “Able God” singer approached the issue of music awards and how they do not guarantee success.
According to him, artistes in the industry should instead focus on measuring their success through their performance on digital streaming platforms.
Here is what he wrote;
“Awards isn’t the yardstick to success. Use your numbers to measure your achievements if they don’t recognize you, your numbers and your fan does“.
The rapper went on to point out that a person has to be dogged to thrive in a country like Nigeria.

The rapper concluded his series of posts by noting that as far as he is concerned, he can boldly lay claims to being the best and most versatile rapper in the industry.
He said: “I can boldly say I’m the best and most versatile rapper in Nigeria and dont seek for anyone’s validation but you know what… sometimes you have to dance to the tune and act a monkey in other to get the banana.”
