46 Nigerian students who recently made the bulk of the 96 medical students, graduated from the prestigious Howard University in the United States of America (USA). Even more interesting is the fact that out of 26 awards of excellence that were given out at the institutions graduation ceremony, 16 were claimed by hardworking and well-deserving Nigerian students.
According to reports, the feat of academic excellence achieved by the student remains one that has never been recorded in Howard or any other university situated in the US. The former president of the United States, Barrack Obama, who was a commencement speaker at the ceremony, spoke about race and encouraged students of color to always remain proud of their blackness and should also learn to love themselves.
Reacting to the news of the academic excellence displayed by the students, executive officer of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa, shared the news on her Twitter timeline and cheered the graduates for making the country proud. See her tweet below:
There is no need doubting the fact that Nigeria is truly a country filled with young, vibrant and talented minds who continue to exhibit excellence wherever they find themselves in any part of the world.
